Oil state prudence and sovereign wealth funds: Norway vs. Alberta, also a look at how Norway's fund invests. I liked the Albertan complaining that Norway is a relatively small country: yes, but it has more people than Alberta... http://www.theglobeandmail.com/report-on-business/international-business/european-business/norways-sovereign-wealth-fund/article25973060/?click=sf_globefb

The carbs article makes sense - looking at world diets, the current vilifiaction of carbs, even relatively simple carbs like potatoes or grains simply doesn't work - these have been primary staples for most of humanity for thousands of years. OTOH, the link between refined sugars and various health problems is moderately clear.

Also, I had no idea that EMPs were part of the right-wing nutkit, or for that matter that they look to be that non-problematic (I knew they weren't as bad ad Newt Gingrich scare stories, but that the most impressive effect on a car was that it needed to be restarted was new to me). I wonder if those created by explosively pumped flux compression generator's are more or less problematic (if also obviously far smaller).
